Scandinavian flair in Portland, Oregan
This is not what you might think. Although it looks like a Scandinavian apartment this home is actually on a ranch in Portland, Oregon, and was built in the 1950’s. The team at Jessica Helgerson Interior Design was called in to revamp the kitchen, dining room, living room and hall. Small windows were replaced with a series of large windows and French doors, opening up the interior to wonderful views that were previously hidden. Dark timber wall paneling and a wall between the kitchen and dining areas were removed. The newly opened up areas were painted a fresh white and furnished with textured, colourful fabrics, rugs and artworks to complete the transformation. I love the use of colour in this home. The owners heirloom dining setting was creatively re-used, given a fresh lick of pastel paint and new bright red seat covers. Don’t you just love the breakfast nook?
